After the withdrawal from the team of Peter and Tim Kennaugh, the Isle of Man’s dream of contesting the team pursuit will have to wait until Glasgow, but attention now turns to the exciting young duo of Mark Christian and Chris Whorrall, both of whom come to Delhi on the back of great form shown in the recent British Track Championships.


Chris Whorrall
19 years old.
Endurance track rider.
Member of the u23 British Cycling Academy.
First year on the Academy.
Making his Commonwealth Games debut in Delhi.
Has been racing since he was 11.
Nickname is ‘Bobbin’.
He is a scared of water and is (understandably) a weak swimmer.

Mark Christian
20 years old.
Endurance track rider.
Member of the u23 British Cycling Academy.
Second year on the Academy.
Making his Commonwealth Games debut in Delhi.
Has been racing since he was 16.
Relaxes by doing Soduko  - it helps his mental
speed for use in the Points Race.
