Is it an athletics meet or an athletics meeting?
I've always referred to meetings but it was a meeting of a different kind last night - the West Douglas election meeting but they still had a timekeeper to ensure that the candidates did not run over their time allocation.
But its a meet tonight. I'll be disappointed if I don't hear the Lindisfarne classic Meet me on the Corner as its singer, Ray Jackson, is part of the Acoustic Gathering that are performing at the Villa Marina.
